UVic's graduating class of 2012 including the 17 academic medalists and award winners this year are in the spotlight for spring convocation, with 3,358 graduates receiving degrees, diplomas and certificates at the nine ceremonies taking place June 11 through June 15. The ceremonies are also being webcast.

A graphic novel project by the Centre for Youth and Society at the University of Victoria designed and written by youth in custody, aims to help young people make a successful transition back into the community and to stay out of jail.

UVic's Modernist Versions Project celebrates its launch June 15 on the eve of Bloomsday, the annual celebration of James Joyce and his novel Ulysses.The MVP digitizes modernist texts including those by William Faulkner and Virginia Woolf and provides links as well as drill-down options and other interactive analysis in a first of its kind for digital humanities studies.

The University of Victoria will confer five honorary degrees during spring convocation ceremonies, June 11 – 15 in the University Centre Farquhar Auditorium. The recipients are selected from nominations to the university senate and are chosen for their extraordinary achievements and their ability to inspire graduates.
